Mini-Z™ - Zero Sequence Harmonic Filters

DESCRIPTION

Mini-Z™ Zero Sequence Harmonic Filters provide the best possible solution to the system performance and power quality problems that result from non-linear, load-generated zero sequence harmonic currents. In addition, their application reduces capital costs, system ‘penalty’ losses and power costs.

Mini-Z™ Zero Sequence Harmonic Filters are connected at the load-end of three-phase, four-wire 'shared neutral' or three-phase, six-wire branch circuits. In 'landscaped' office environments, filters may be conveniently connected to pre-wired partitions via the partition manufacturer's standard wire-way connection cable. Where the partitions are not pre-wired or in private office areas, filters may be connected at branch circuits' 'home run' junction boxes. In computer room or audio/video editing and broadcast studio environments, 19 inch 'rack mount' filters may be used as the branch circuits' 'home run' junction boxes.

The application of filters in new distribution systems eliminates the need to oversize 'shared neutral' conductors or install separate neutral conductors for each phase in a branch circuit. Similarly, the application of filters in existing systems eliminates the need to replace branch circuits with undersized 'shared neutrals'. In either case, filters will eliminate the need to de-rate circuits, panels and switchboards. The de-rating of conventional distribution transformers can be reduced from approximately 45% to less than 15%. As a result, filters significantly reduce capital costs and power costs while providing significant performance and power quality improvements.

TECHNICAL SPECIFICATION

Mini-Z™ Zero Sequence Harmonic Filters are patented three-phase, four/six-wire, copper-wound, common-core autotransformers. With less than 0.9% zero sequence impedance and less than 0.3% reactance, these filters provide a parallel (shunt) paths, with ultra-low zero sequence impedance, for all single-phase load-generated zero sequence harmonic currents.

I0Filter™ - Zero Sequence Harmonic Filters

 DESCRIPTION

I0Filter™ Zero Sequence Harmonic Filters are innovative, high quality three-phase, four-wire, passive electromagnetic devices. These devices have been specifically designed to provide an ultra-low zero sequence impedance parallel (shunt) path for the removal of all zero sequence harmonic currents, regardless of their frequency, from the upstream system.

I0Filter™ performance is optimized when they are installed as close as possible to the phase-neutral connected non-linear loads. This is typically accomplished by connecting the Filter at a three-phase, four wire panel that supplies the single-phase non-linear loads.

Directional I0Filter™ filters are also available when treatment of only one of several distribution panels in a sub-system is required

and/or mitigation of positive and negative harmonic currents is also required. Any of these filters can be used in combination in order to provide the most effective and economical solution.

The application of I0Filter™ filters in new distribution systems eliminates the need to oversize neutral conductors in feeder circuits. Similarly, the application of filters in existing systems eliminates the need to replace undersized neutral conductors. In either case, filters will eliminate the need to de-rate feeder circuits and upstream switchboards. The de-rating of conventional distribution transformers can be reduced from approximately 45% to less than 15%. As a result, filters significantly reduce capital costs and power costs while providing significant performance and power quality benefits.

TECHNICAL SPECIFICATION

I0Filter Zero Sequence Harmonic Filters are proprietary three-phase, four-wire, copper-wound, common-core autotransformers. With less than 0.9% zero sequence impedance and less than 0.3% reactance, these filters provide a parallel (shunt) paths, with ultra-low zero sequence impedance, for all single-phase load-generated zero sequence harmonic currents.

Distribution TransFilter™ - Harmonic Filtering Transformer

DESCRIPTION

Distribution TransFilter Harmonic Mitigating Transformers are Ultra-High Efficiency three-phase distribution transformers that have been specially designed to mitigate the power quality problems associated with non-linear, load-generated harmonic currents in three-phase electrical distribution systems.

K-Rated or de-rated Transformers are only intended to survive in a harmonic environment. By contrast, Distribution TransFilters will cancel zero sequence harmonic fluxes within the three-phase magnetic core. In addition, positive and negative sequence harmonic currents will cancel on their primary bus or within their dual output secondary windings.

TECHNICAL SPECIFICATION

Distribution TransFilter™ Harmonic Filtering Transformers are proprietary three-phase, four-wire, copper-wound, common-core isolation transformers. Type 'DV' transformers, with less than 0.9% zero sequence impedance and less than 0.3% reactance, provide a parallel (shunt) paths, with ultra-low zero sequence impedance, for all single-phase load-generated zero sequence harmonic currents.

Drive TransFilter™ - Harmonic Mitigating Drive Transformer

DESCRIPTION

Drive TransFilter™ Harmonic Filtering Drive Isolation Transformers are Ultra-High Efficiency three-phase drive isolation transformers that have been specifically designed to mitigate the power quality problems associated with three-phase, six and twelve pulse Adjustable Speed Drives (ASD).

Drive TransFilter™ provide a significant power quality improvement by canceling positive and negative sequence harmonic currents on a common distribution system bus and/or within the secondary windings of a multiple output transformer.

In addition, the device will deliver all the benefits normally provided by conventional drive isolation transformers including electrical isolation of the drive, fault current reduction at the drive, absorption of phase-ground voltage shifts, associated with the inverter operation, and a 100% increase in allowable drive loading.

TECHNICAL SPECIFICATION

Drive TransFilter™ Harmonic Filtering Transformers are proprietary three-phase, four-wire, copper-wound, common-core isolation transformers.

Drive Auto TransFilter™ - Phase Shifting Line Reactors

DESCRIPTION

Drive Auto TransFilter™ Harmonic Mitigating Phase Shifted Line Reactors provide a significant power quality improvement by canceling positive and negative sequence harmonic currents on a common distribution system bus and/or within the secondary windings of a multiple output reactor.

In addition, the device will deliver all the benefits normally provided by conventional drive reactors including fault current reduction at the drive and a 100% increase in allowable drive loading.

TECHNICAL SPECIFICATION

Drive Auto TransFilter™ Harmonic Filtering Reactors are proprietary three-phase, four-wire, copper-wound, common-core reactors.
